Our venue in detail:
Please go here…
We are using/trying out a Smart-Q appointment system.
Please read and understand the terms n conditions.
There is no perfect Q system – each will have its pros and
cons.
Intention: to optimize the reduction of clinic waiting time for
both appointment (APPT) & walk-in (WI) patients.
However, the APPT timing given will be based on BEST
ESTIMATED TIME n expected to be shorter than the first-
come-first-served (FCFS) queue.
We surely dare NOT promise that all APPT patients will be
seen on-the-dot punctually even though you may already
have an appointment. We apologize in advance.
Reasons:
•
Emergency cases (acute airway
blockage, emergency referrals,
heavy/serious bleeding, very frail
patients etc) will be given priority
•
Generally, new patients seen for
the first time will need more time
for consultation and examination.
•
Some cases are more complex
(2nd,3rd etc opinion consult, cancer diagnosis,
breaking bad news, very anxious patients)
•
Delays from surgeries
•
Clinic can be busy with many ad-hoc surgical
procedures eg. In-clinic ultrasound-based or
endoscopy-based procedures
•
Some patients may have been seen earlier by the
doctor and had gone around the different departments
in the hospital for different tests/procedures. They are
back in the clinic for review of the results by the doctor.
•
Needing to fill insurance form on the spot for new
acute admission.
•
Crying uncooperative babies/kids
•
Many other unforeseen/unexpected reasons
We will always have your welfare (right diagnosis, treatment
and Q&A clarification) in mind (if you can exclude Q waiting
time as your welfare factor !).
Please know that the doctor always has to keep this balance
in mind:
We
can
only
seek
your
kind
understanding
and
extend
your
kindness
to
a
fellow
human
being
if
a
patient
is
deemed
in
your
opinion
to
be
taking
up
longer
than
usual
in
the
consultation
room
(maybe
the
doctor
has
to
break
the
bad
news
he
has
cancer?,
maybe
the
patient
has
many
questions
etc
).
Rest
assured
the
doctor
is
definitely
not
shaking
legs
inside
and
is
in
fact,
doing
the
best
he
can.
Previous
FCFS
clinic:
All
patients
are
seen
based
on
FCFS
system and will join the same Q.
New
system:
APPT
and
WI
patients
will
have
different
Q
lines.
That
means,
if
earlier
APPT
patient
(example
patient
A)
is
seen
later
than
his
actual
appointment
time,
the
rest
(patient
B,
C,
D,
etc)
who
show
up
even
on
time
will
still
be
seen
based
on
the
existing
APPT
Q
sequence
ie.
still
a
chance
of
the
patient
being
seen
later
than
the
given
appointment
time
-
even
if
he/she
shows
up
on
time
in
the
clinic.
WI
patients
will
be
slotted
in
between
the
APPT
patients
provided
there
are
free
time
in
between.
As
compared
to
previous
FCFS
system
where
a
WI
patients
with
an
acute
non-emergency
symptom
can
be
seen
earlier
even
without
appointment
as
long
as
following
the
sequence
of
registration
(as
we
said,
there
is
no
perfect
Q
system,
there is pros and cons in each system).
Hence,
it
Is
also
more
advisable
to
get
an
estimated
appointment time with the new system.
If the appointment is full and you wish to see him urgently:
The clinic/doctor reserves the right to call any patient
depending on priorities and conditions at his discretion.
We will try our best to meet your needs. Thank you for
your kind understanding
